Supported assets
Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), and Monero (XMR) are available on their test networks and mainnet. All three settle directly to merchant-controlled wallets and use the same API-level lifecycle: pending → detected → confirmed, with explicit terminal states.
| Asset | Test | Production | Exact amount field | Receive model |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bitcoin (BTC) | Testnet4 | Mainnet | amount_sats | Receive descriptor or account public key |
| Bitcoin Cash (BCH) | Testnet4 | Mainnet | amount_sats | Account public key and CashAddr |
| Monero (XMR) | Stagenet | Mainnet | amount_atomic string in piconero | Primary address and encrypted private view key |
Custody boundary
Customer funds never pass through Manatee. BTC and BCH public wallet data permits receive-address derivation but cannot sign transactions. The XMR private view key permits incoming-payment observation and subaddress allocation but cannot spend funds without the private spend key.
Read-only does not mean public. Extended public keys reveal related addresses, and an XMR private view key reveals incoming activity. Use dedicated merchant wallets and keep this data out of logs and client-side code.
Manatee never asks for or stores:
- wallet seed phrases
- BTC or BCH private keys
- XMR private spend keys
- wallet passwords
- custody balances on behalf of merchants
Network isolation
The Test credential covers BTC/BCH Testnet4 and XMR Stagenet. The Mainnet credential covers production BTC, BCH, and XMR. Responses and webhook data always retain explicit asset and network values.
Test and Mainnet receive configurations are independent. A Stagenet address cannot become a Mainnet address by changing an environment selector.
Asset-specific behavior
Bitcoin
Manatee derives fresh receive addresses from a ranged descriptor or account public key, observes transactions through managed Bitcoin infrastructure, and tracks the requested confirmation threshold.
Bitcoin Cash
Manatee derives CashAddr receive addresses, preserves the asset boundary from BTC, observes BCH transactions independently, and reports exact satoshi amounts.
Monero
An isolated view-only scanner derives a unique subaddress for each payment and observes exact piconero amounts. Manual destination and integrated addresses are not accepted by the XMR payment endpoint. Manatee never receives the spend key and cannot send XMR.

Additional networks are evaluated for direct settlement, read-only integration, independent verification, finality, exact amount matching, operational safety, wallet interoperability, and the ability to remain non-custodial. No future asset is considered supported until it appears in this documentation and the public API contract.
