Hosted and Operated in Germany
Manatee API is an independent project built and operated in Germany for teams that want to accept BTC, BCH, and XMR without handing customer funds to a custodian.
The payment flow stays non-custodial. Customers send the selected asset directly to wallet addresses you control, while Manatee monitors the relevant network, tracks payment status, and sends signed webhook events to your backend.
Why the hosting boundary matters
For many businesses, payment infrastructure is not only a developer decision. It also affects vendor review, data protection expectations, support hours, and operational trust.
The current operating model is deliberately explicit:
- Core application, API, payment-monitoring, webhook, and database infrastructure hosted in Germany
- Product operation and support based in Germany
- Non-custodial BTC, BCH, and XMR payments with direct wallet settlement
- Signed webhooks for order updates and reconciliation
- Testnet-first integration before mainnet payment flows
Hosting scope
The Germany hosting statement refers to Manatee's application backend, API, payment-monitoring services, webhook processing, and associated backend databases. The static public website and security edge use Cloudflare's globally distributed network, so website requests can be processed at an edge location outside the European Union. The current providers and international-transfer safeguards are described in the Privacy Policy.
What Manatee does not custody
Manatee does not hold spend keys, seed phrases, or customer funds. XMR requires a private view key for observation, but that key cannot authorize spending. Manatee cannot spend, freeze, reverse, or refund crypto assets. Refunds and treasury operations stay in your own wallet process.
